DIRECTOR OF REAL ESTATE ASSET MANAGEMENT

POSITION SUMMARY

Saxum Real Estate is seeking a seasoned highly motivated real estate executive to serve as the Director of Real Estate Asset Management to spearhead all asset management related responsibilities. This role will be responsible for variance analysis of actuals vs. budget, property-level cash flow modeling, and assisting the team in monitoring and maximizing investment returns and efficiency. The ideal candidate must be a self-starter with an intense entrepreneurial spirit, excellent quantitative and communication skills, relentless attention to detail, and an all-encompassing passion for real estate.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Spearhead all asset management activities including the management and execution of the individual asset strategies for the firm’s portfolio
• Maximize asset value through the creation of detailed and calculated asset management strategies
• Oversee all financial aspects of the property, including review of monthly, quarterly and annual cash flows, financial statements, rent rolls and updated project and investor returns
• Portfolio and property-level financial assessments including analyzing and reviewing the impact of the project plan, leasing, renovation and operations
• Portfolio reporting and variance analysis of actuals vs. budget, project timelines and objectives
• Engage and provide oversight of third parties which perform the day-to-day operations of the assets, including, but not limited to operating partners, leasing, construction and property management companies
• Work directly with the firm’s, leasing, construction, property management and accounting teams
• Communicate and coordinate with all areas of property operations including acquisitions, leasing and development
• Assist with presentations and analysis for senior management, investors and lenders

KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

• Minimum 5 years+ of real estate experience with significant asset management experience in commercial real estate product types
• Strong academic background in real estate, finance, management or accounting preferred
• Significant skill-set to spearhead all asset management property activities and the ability to create and run processes and procedures
• Superior command of real estate financial concepts including pro forma cash flows, DCF, cap rates, IRR, among others
• Strong financial and analytical ability, with previous experience of working with financial models in excel and Argus
• Strong understanding of the investment life cycle and ability to execute asset level business plans
• Systems-oriented with deep knowledge and familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to work with various accounting, property management and leasing database systems
• Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines
• Ability to multi-task and work in a challenging fast paced team environment
• Creative and innovative approach to solving problems and resolving issues
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to manage internal and external relationships

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSES

• Bachelor’s degree in a real estate, finance, management, accounting, economics or related field
