Description
BASIC FUNCTION: Position requires proactive asset management of an assigned portfolio of multi-family properties through application of strong negotiation skills and comprehensive analysis and understanding of the assets’ investment objectives, related loan documents, partnership agreements, and historical and projected property performance. Asset Managers are required to work with minimal supervision, assist management with development and implementation of systems and procedures, and participate as a mentor to support personnel. Asset Managers’ portfolios may include ten to fifteen assets.
ADDITIONAL FUNCTION: Position also requires (i) engagement of and interaction with third party consultants including attorneys, management companies, appraisers, environmental engineers, and surveyors, and (ii) thorough understanding of and compliance with the governing loan documents, partnership agreements, and partnership reporting requirements. Constructive interaction with joint venture partners is required. Travel required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge: Candidate must have an understanding of complex loan and joint venture operating agreements, working knowledge of foreclosure and bankruptcy laws, and experience in managing multifamily properties.
Skills: Candidate must have strong analytical, negotiation, communication (both verbal and written), financial and computer skills.
Experience: Candidate must have at least three (3) to ten (10) years experience in commercial real estate. Other experience such as operating statement analysis, real estate loan underwriting/origination and real estate valuation is a plus. A four (4) year college degree is required, preferably in the field of business or real estate.
